On May 3rd, 2020, the Congregational Church of Vergennes called the Rev. Elliott Munn to be their settled pastor, marking an exciting new chapter in the life of the congregation.
Wonderstruck at how God unexpectedly shows up in his own life, Elliott devotes his ministry to helping others find God in theirs. A storyteller at heart, he enjoys weaving the simple moments of everyday life into his preaching. As a lover of the outdoors, he routinely turns to skiing, boating, and hiking to renew his spirit.
Elliott is a graduate of Bowdoin College and Yale Divinity School. In 2015, he was ordained and began his ministry as the Associate Pastor of First Church in West Hartford, CT. When his spouse, Elizabeth, accepted a call as the Associate Pastor of the Congregational Church of Middlebury in 2019, he followed her north and served as the Transitional Pastor of the Waitsfield United Church of Christ.
Elliott and Elizabeth currently live in Middlebury, and they are so excited to be ministering in Addison County. Don't hesitate to connect with Elliott via email at email@example.com. He loves meeting new people, collaborating for justice, and welcoming folks into the church community.
Our church is also served by a dedicated administrative assistant, Mike O'Daniel, who helps keep every aspect of church life running smoothly. Kathy Barrett is our treasurer and manages, at the behest of our Trustees, the church finances. Bill Bowers and Sue O'Daniel jointly direct our talented choir with Jenny Bower providing the beautiful organ (and piano) music that accompany our services.
Marybeth Partington is our Children and Family Ministry C0-coordinator. Marybeth grew up in Vergennes Congregational Church and has been a member since confimation in 2004. She works as a jewelers apprentice during the week and lives with her dog Gus in town.
Sara Donnelly joined the staff in December 2019 as our Children and Family Ministry Co-coordinator. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Services. Sara lives with her partner Seth and their two children and animals in town.
