One Special Day

Blessings All, The very last day of this month will be quite a day here at the church. We will celebrate with 6 members of this years Confirmation Class as they join the church as full adult members. 2 members of the class will be baptized immediately before being confirmed. This Sunday we will also celebrate this year’s Sunday School program, recognizing the teaching teams and listening to a couple of their songs, joining in an all-church type skit and hearing about how the year has gone for this very dynamic aspect of our community life. This will be a “celebrationally” full Sunday worship experience. Come and share in this special time together. In Christ Gary #Confirmation

Blessings All, This weekend is not only a holiday weekend culminating with Memorial Day on Monday – it is a three-day weekend with Pentecost smack dab in the middle. This Sunday the scripture will be (surprise – surprise) Acts 2:1-21 with a sermon entitled: Me? A Prophet?” I expect everyone attending this Sunday will be seeing RED. If you have something red to wear – it might be fun to wear it this Sunday. I know there are many plans for this unofficial beginning of summer weekend – I hope your plans include some time in worship on Sunday wherever you may find yourself. God Bless You All In Faith Gary

Good Friday

Peace and Joy to you, This coming Friday, a week from today, our church will have the opportunity to connect with another consultant from the Center for Progressive Renewal (CPR). Last Fall Mike Piazza spent a day with us, chatted with a number of people, did a bit of an informal survey of the area and sensed our community. His report was enlightening and challenging and our Next Level Team has been working on areas lifted up from that experience and their subsequent discussions. WELL!! We have another opportunity to meet with, listen to and explore with another consultant from CPR. This Friday (May 29th) Claire Bamberg will be spending the afternoon and evening with us to hear what our v

Blessings Faith Family, This weekend ahead will be a busy one. Many in the church will be attending college graduations. There is a work day tomorrow morning beginning at 9:00 here at the church. I will officiate at two graveside services in the afternoon (at 1:00 in Monkton for Forrest Rose and at 3:00 in Vergennes for Ruth LaFlam). There will be a reception in the Fellowship Hall for the family and friends of Forrest Rose beginning at 2:00. If you wish to help out with that stop on by. On Sunday we will have two baptisms during our morning worship (Ozzy and baby sister Mary McGuire) will be baptized. The scriptures for Sunday are: Psalm 1 and John 17:6-19 with a sermon entitled: “B

Prayers and More

Blessings Church Family, Some of the youth of our church along with 3 chaperones are heading to Heifer Project’s Overlook Farm this morning and returning on Sunday afternoon. The weather seems to be better than previous years visits. That is very good news. Rich Strum will be leading worship this coming Sunday – with the scriptures being: Acts 10:44-48 and John 15:9-17 with a sermon entitled: “In the Name of the Great Jehovah.” One of the many gifts Rich has is that he knows his history – especially this area’s history, and he shares it well. Enjoy your Sunday together. in Faith Gary

Blessings All, This weekend promises to be a great weekend – super weather – bugs have not started to come out too much (yet) and Sunday would be a wonderful day to get together. This Sunday we will celebrate Communion. The children of the Sunday School and staff will be extending Green-Up Day so if you have kids coming to church very casual clothes might be in order. The scriptures are: 1 John 4:7-21 and John 15:1-8 with a message entitled: “Fasten – ating.” So, if someone, after church, asks you about the message on Sunday, you can say, without reservation – “Fascinating.” Enjoy the weekend and see you on Sunday Peace to you all, Gary #Communion
