First Sunday in Advent

Blessings All, With the Thanksgiving feast behind us and more leftovers still to be dealt with, I know a number of people in our church family who experienced Thanksgiving with varied emotions – recent loss, pending changes in place and space, varied relational issues – good and not-so-good, concerns for the present and questions about the future. The Community of Christ is good and we all need it no matter where are on life’s journey. Thank you for your part in the Community. However we find ourselves following Thanksgiving Day – we now enter ADVENT – ready or not. Blessings and Joy to you all, This Sunday we will celebrate our life together in worship as we focus some time on Joel 2:21-27 and Matthew 6:25-33 with a Message entitled: Thanks__iving.” We will also be celebrating our life together as we receive our individual Estimates of Giving supporting our church’s ministry and mission for 2016. Estimate of Giving cards were mailed out and we will have extras in the pews. Following Worship we will share in the abundance of food provided by Diane Tracy and Shelly Shackett. Everyone – all ages and stages are invited to our annual celebration luncheon in the Fellowship Hall (downstairs). From 1-5 Sunday afternoon there will be an open house to honor

What a Pang

Blessings Church Family, This Sunday this scripture texts are: 1 Samuel 1:4-20 and Mark 13:1-8 with a sermon entitled: “What a Pang.” Sometimes things seem so solid and then we find that those things can actually fall apart – and then what do we do?
