Hearing Voices

Peace and Joy to you all, This very last Sunday – very last day in January promises to be a special day – as all days are special. We will focus attention on Jeremiah 1:4-10 and Luke 4:21-30 with a sermon entitled: “Hearing Voices.” We will also focus on 1 Corinthians 13 (the “Love” passage. What voices are seeking to attract our attention? What voices to we “attend” to? Are there voice characteristics that tend to draw us in? Are there voice characteristics that tend to draw us away? Following worship this Sunday we will hold our annual meeting and everyone is invited to attend. Child Care will be provided. If you remember, bring your annual reports. Who Am I?

Peace and Happy Season of Epiphany to you all, This Sunday the scriptures will be 1 Corinthians 12:12-21 and 27 and Luke 4:14-21. The sermon is entitled: “Who Am I?” One thing I am considering is asking people to think about their favorite Bible passage or story (maybe a parable that Jesus told). We might do some sharing around those stories if anyone wishes to share their favorite and focus on what the meaning might be for our time and place. If you are travelling this weekend – please be safe. If you have an option this wee

Un-wrapping Gifts

Blessings to you all, Our scripture focus for this coming Sunday is: John 2:1-11 (The Wedding at Cana). Do you remember the water into wine thing? Here it is. If you were holding a party – and he just happen to show up, would that be a good thing or a bit of a “downer.” Just something to think about. Last week we shared a wonderful time together as we received blessings of water (celebrating the Baptism of Jesus) and claiming our place in a beautiful picture drawn by Andrea Kerin. Well the picture and the names

Worship Weather

Blessings to you all, No matter what the outside weather is like – snowy or rainy, windy or calm, grey skies or blue – it is always worship weather and the weather gets better and better when you are here. This Sunday the focus scripture text will be Luke 3:15-17, 21-22 and the sermon (interactive sermon) is entitled: “Named and Claimed.” We will be talking about the baptism of Jesus and his life-changing affirming experience. The wonderful gift of God’s affirming love is a gift we all (everyone of us) needs. If you know of someone who is feeling a bit down or “less than” take a risk and invite them to worship here this Sunday. Their presence – your presence – our presence will add sp
