What a way to begin!

Blessings All as 2016 winds down and we begin to envision what 2017 might look like. We will begin the year together on Sunday the first of January with Communion. What a way to begin! We will be singing Christmas songs and celebrating life together and I expect the Living Word of God will challenge us as be begin our 2017 trek together. The scriptures are: Ecclesiastes 3:1-13 – Revelation 21:1 and Matthew 25:31-46. The Message is entitled: “What Do You See? – Who Do You See?” The inspiration comes from Revelation and Matthew. I look forward to new beginnings with you on Sunday. Have a safe New Year’s Eve and I hope to see you on Sunday. Peace Joy Love and Harmony In Christ Gary

Blessings All, Just a subtle pastoral reminder that Christmas is on Sunday – the 25th this year and that means that Christmas Eve will be on Saturday. We will have two services, both with candle lighting. The first service will be at 4:00 for all families or individuals who might have a challenge making the 7:00 traditional service. Mel and Jean Simmons – again this year – have provided their Marionette Scenes to help with the story telling as children will be invited to trek from scene to scene through the sanctuary as the congregation sings carols and we hear again the story of Christmas read by the number reader of our family - Betty Lewis. If you know of families with children who mig

Los Posadas

Blessings and Prayers of Warmth to you All, This Sunday will be a special Sunday – Abigail is inviting all children to go to the Fellowship Hall before the church service begins to get ready for the Las Posadas experience and the Christmas Pageant. Las Posadas is a Mexican tradition of re-enacting the trek of Mary and Joseph seeking refuge for the birth of Jesus. This is an outdoor experience and the entire congregation will be invited to make a bit of journey into the neighborhood outside of the church (could be a bit rainy). Everyone including the children will return to the church and the traditional Christmas Pageant will begin. Sunday will be a bit wet – and I know not everyone shoul

The Disruptive Word

Blessings to you all, This coming Sunday – is the third Sunday in Advent and the 10, 11 and 12 year old youth will be lighting the Advent Wreath – the candle of JOY. The scripture passage is: Luke 1:26-56 but I think I will paraphrase the first portion of this scripture passage before we all join with Mary in her special song 46b-55. The sermon title will be “The Disruptive Word.” Would God ever conceive of having a disruptive word? What is the matter with a nice soothing status quo non-disruptive type word? Following worship we will have Acolyte training for 10-12 year olds in the sanctuary. We will also have our Mission Concert 2-4 on Sunday afternoon with all moneys raised going direc

In or Out

Blessings All, Our trek toward Christmas moves into the second Sunday of Advent. The focus texts are: Isaiah 11:1-10 and Matthew 3:1-12 with a message entitled: “Inside Out – Outside In.” We may do a bit of a conversation about being “In or Out.” Would you share a time when you felt like an “outsider?” Maybe that time is here and now. Maybe there and then. Would you share a time when you were and “insider?” Maybe that time is here and now. Maybe there and then. We will celebrate Communion together as we find our interconnectedness with each other around the invitation of Jesus. The Giving Tree will be set up downstairs if you wish to select a gift to purchase for a neighbor in need
