The busy season has begun – with Vergennes Day today followed by the latest high-holy day of the Christian year – Water Sunday.
This Sunday we will gather to receive the various water samples from various places by various people having various experiences.
The scriptures – believe it or not – begin in Genesis and end in Revelation – talk about an alpha and omega worship service. The Sermon is entitled: “Living Waters.” This will be an intergenerational service with the kids staying up for the whole time. The sermon will be from you. There will be an opportunity for people to pour their water into a community bowl and offer a bit of a history (maybe Spirit) of where the water came from or the experiences the water represents as we share some of the breadth of our community summer times and gather water for future baptisms – as we welcome people into the breadth and depth of Christian community. This should be fun. I hope to see you on Saturday and or on Sunday.
