Halloween and MORE!
Just a quick reminder to parents and grandparents – to encourage your trick-or-treaters to bring a portion (percentage) of their sweet collections from Saturday evening – to church on Sunday morning. We will pour them all together in a basket. This is one of the win-win things. The kids get to have less candy – the parents get to have a bit of a limit on their sugar highs – the families have a teaching moment of not just giving up what you do not want but to think about what others might like to enjoy and people in nursing homes or hospitals will experience a bit more sweetness in their lives. WOW – there are no losers.
Sundays’ service will be Communion (do not forget the Deacons’ offering) we will also focus some attention on Ruth 1:1-18 and Mark 12:28-34. The Message will be: “Love – Love – Love.” OK sue me – I am a child of the 60s.
We will receive our Neighbors in Need offering too as we extend our mission and ministry to neighbors around the world.
I will share with you that this service on Sunday will have less of something and a bit more of something else.
I hope to see you on Sunday – and please be SAFE tomorrow evening.
