First Sunday in Advent

November 28, 2015

Blessings All,

With the Thanksgiving feast behind us and more leftovers still to be dealt with, I know a number of people in our church family  who experienced Thanksgiving with varied emotions – recent loss, pending changes in place and space, varied relational issues – good and not-so-good, concerns for the present and questions about the future.  The Community of Christ is good and we all need it no matter where are on life’s journey.  Thank you for your part in the Community.

However we find ourselves following Thanksgiving Day – we now enter ADVENT – ready or not.

Tomorrow we begin the first formal step toward Christmas as we light the first Advent Candle and sing Advent hymns in preparation for something NEW.

The texts for tomorrow are:  Jeremiah 33:14-16 and Luke 21:25-36 with a sermon entitled:  “One Of These Days ...”  When you read the words to that title, what is the tone of it?  How would you say it?  How have you heard it?

I look forward to Advent together with you

In Faith,
