Blessings to you all,
This Sunday is the fourth Sunday in Advent and our scripture reading is from Luke – surprise surprise – chapter 1:39-55. The sermon is entitled: Antigravity. If we had a little less gravity – my weight issues would be resolved. Just a thought. Denise Martin has decorated the sanctuary with the poinsettias that people ordered. Following worship the Mission Committee is promoting alternative giving (Habitat and Heifer) in the Fellowship Hall. We will also have a cookie exchange. Bring some cookies in, share some cookies here and take some cookies home. Some of the cookies will be used for coffee hour, some will go caroling and given as gifts to the carolees and the rest can go home with anyone wishing to have an assortment of goodies to bring home for Christmas.
As mentioned above, all are invited to join in the caroling around town this year. Sharon O’Daniel has connected with some nursing homes and care facilities and they are ready for us to share the joy of the season. That will begin at 11:30 Sunday morning.
As the carolers are out share the joy there will be a team of people transporting Mel and Jean Simmons’ Marionettes from their home to the church in preparation for the Family Christmas Eve Service which will begin at 4:30 on the 24th. Our traditional candle light service will begin at 7:00 on surprise – surprise – the 24th as well.
It is a busy season – it is a great season.
Invite a friend.
I hope to see you on the 20th and the 24th.
Peace and Joy in Christ,
