Crossing the Road
Blessings Church Family,
Tomorrow, Sunday, will be a special day. Not only will be gathering to share in worship but we will celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism for Alexander Sinkevich. As we celebrate his entrance into the Christian Faith Universal we will also celebrate the entrance into church membership of three people tomorrow as well.
The children’s activity will have as a theme “honoring others’ voices” and the activity will be sharing the Sioux story of “The Talking Stick” followed by each child painting a talking stick. As always, Abigail will incorporate prayer and a Bible verse to ground the learnings within the context of our Christian Faith foundation.
With all of the New Life Celebrations it would be good to focus a bit of attention on what that new life might entail as Followers of Jesus. With all of the very “tough” stuff happening this past week and in many situations leading to this time, the lectionary seems to be crying out to be heard. The Gospel text for the week is one of Jesus’ famous stories (parables) known as the Parable of the Good Samaritan. If you have a bit of time – it is found in Luke’s Gospel chapter 10:25-37. The Message is entitled: “Crossing the Road.” It will be interesting to sense what our eyes and ears of our hearts receive from this legendary story given the context we are in today.
I look forward to our precious time together tomorrow
