The Disruptive Word
Blessings to you all,
This coming Sunday – is the third Sunday in Advent and the 10, 11 and 12 year old youth will be lighting the Advent Wreath – the candle of JOY. The scripture passage is: Luke 1:26-56 but I think I will paraphrase the first portion of this scripture passage before we all join with Mary in her special song 46b-55. The sermon title will be “The Disruptive Word.” Would God ever conceive of having a disruptive word? What is the matter with a nice soothing status quo non-disruptive type word?
Following worship we will have Acolyte training for 10-12 year olds in the sanctuary.
We will also have our Mission Concert 2-4 on Sunday afternoon with all moneys raised going directly to assist people in need in our area. Tickets will be for sale after church or at the door.
The children will be preparing for the Christmas Pageant during their Sunday School time. The pageant will be held on Sunday the 18th.
We will have two Christmas Eve Services – This year we will have those services on the 24th. The first service will be for families with children as Mel Simmons, again this year, will provide his marionette scenes depicting the birth narrative. Our traditional service will be held at 7:00. Both services will include the candlelight portion.
Tis the Season
May God bless our journeys toward Christmas
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday
