Just a subtle pastoral reminder that Christmas is on Sunday – the 25th this year and that means that Christmas Eve will be on Saturday. We will have two services, both with candle lighting. The first service will be at 4:00 for all families or individuals who might have a challenge making the 7:00 traditional service.
Mel and Jean Simmons – again this year – have provided their Marionette Scenes to help with the story telling as children will be invited to trek from scene to scene through the sanctuary as the congregation sings carols and we hear again the story of Christmas read by the number reader of our family - Betty Lewis. If you know of families with children who might like to share in this time – invite them. If you know of people who may not be able to make the 7:00 service – invite them. It will be good.
Our 7:00 traditional service of lessons and carols will also have the candle lighting service as part of it. The choir will be singing 5 anthems and Cherie Vachon will be reading the Christmas story to us.
The Christmas Message this year is entitled: “Christmas Lights.” I expect we will go a bit deeper than chatting about the color of lights (clear, white, multi-colored, blinking or not blinking).
We will have a Christmas Sunday morning worship service at 9:30. This will be a more informal service of being together and singing a lot of songs of the season as we celebrate new life together.
Thank you all for sharing the word.
May all who are travelling – to here or from here – do so in safety.
Peace and Joy
