Another summer weekend in Vermont. This evening Table of Grace (free community dinner) will be held here – as it is every 4th Friday of the month.
Tomorrow our church will have a team of people assisting in the building of the latest Habitat house in Addison County. Marcia Mazeine is the contact person for that event.
On Sunday we will focus our attention on one major teaching method Jesus used – The Parable. We will read a parable from Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43 but we will build our own parable during worship. Maybe we will build a few of them – we will see. Jesus often taught – using commonly known situations or settings –= and then from the mundane moved into the sacred.
In preparation for Sunday, it would be great if you would think of common life experiences, settings or activities that most or maybe everyone could relate to – then we will share how we might interpret our understandings of God and human beings through the everyday examples of life. This should be on the fun side as we share ideas and insights with each other.
All women of the church are invited to stay for a gathering right after worship to focus on the budget for the upcoming year.
I look forward to our time together on Sunday.
Peace to you all,
