Blessings to you all,
As I type this last Friday missive I want to begin with Thank You – with all of the nuances of those two one-syllable words – I thank you for YOU.
As our work together is winding up – or down – and we look to this weekend – here is what is happening:
Saturday – our church will be coordinating a Green-Up Day effort beginning at 9:00 and going until 11:00. Kids and youth are welcome and encouraged to plug in as we spruce up the world for the coming outdoor/summer season. Good Stuff
On Sunday -- we will celebrate our life together. The texts will be: Psalm 98, Acts 10:44-48 and John 15:9-17. Those are lectionary readings which, as so often is the case, seem to fit with who we are and what we will be doing on Sunday. We will have Communion – followed by a “Liturgy of Farewell.” Rev. Pam Lucas and Rev. David Andrews will be joining us and participating in this formal liturgy. The choir will be singing a few anthems and Jenny will be helping to lead us through it all.
There will not be a Sunday School time as such but Abigail will be setting up and offering the children a space in the sanctuary to participate in quiet activities which they can plug into from time to time and join their families from time to time as well.
Following the service we will have an extended coffee hour/luncheon downstairs.
As much as I have not looked forward to this day – I do look forward to seeing you and sharing this precious time with precious people.
Again – THANK YOU
