Dear Church Family:
In response to the COVID-19 epidemic, here is what we will be doing for Sunday worship at this time. We will keep you updated if we decide further action is needed as time goes on.
For now, we plan to worship together this Sunday March 15th and share a conversation at the end of worship about how we can continue to be the church and care for one another.
Here is the plan:
The deacons will not collect the offering. Instead, offering plates will be placed by the doors. If possible, feel free to mail in your pledge or drop it by the office yourself or pay through Vanco. (Speak to Kathy Barrett to find out more).
We will not pass the microphone during announcements and sharing of prayers. We will have a deacon nearby to repeat your announcement or prayers to ensure that all can hear them.
We are attending to deep cleaning of surfaces in the church building. Hand sanitizers are available at each door.
While it is a good and common practice to stay home from church if you are unwell, this is particularly important at this time. Such restraint includes those of us who are immunocompromised or living with loved ones whose immune systems are impaired.
Please check with your neighbors and see how they are.
Is there a chance that we will need to close the church to all activities in the coming days or weeks if COVID-19 surfaces in and around Vergennes? Yes. And we will continue to make plans to address this situation.
In the midst of all of this, remember that we are people of faith and our prayers have good effect. So do pause and lift your prayers for the containing of this virus and the protection of all God’s people.
The taco dinner and youth group are cancelled for now. As we approach the Easter Season we will update you on other events that may be impacted.
