SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE
COVID-19 Update
To keep our community safe and remain inclusive in our welcome, we are worshipping via Zoom every Sunday morning at 9:30 am. Even in these odd days, we still love welcoming visitors. Check out our Facebook page, e-mail vucc@vergennesucc.org, or call the office for a link or dial-in number.
During pre-COVID times...
Each Sunday we gather at 9:30 in our sanctuary for worship service, though late comers are always welcome. We invite you to join us.
If you venture to South Water Street on a Sunday morning, here is what you may expect:
-
The choir practices at 8:30 in the manse & welcomes newcomers at any time.
-
Parking is available in the rear of the church, and there is also ample on-street parking available within reasonable walking distance from the church;
-
A warm greeting from a friendly face as you come through our front or back entrance and someone to direct you on your first visit;
-
A detailed bulletin to guide you through the service;
-
Assistive listening technology for those with hearing impairments to ensure that everyone may enjoy the service;
-
A service rich in music, prayer, reflection, scripture readings and pastoral messages;
-
Inclusion of children in the Sunday programming:
-
Children under three may be dropped off in our nursery to receive loving care during any part of the service or for all of it;
-
All children are invited to join Gary for a children's message early in the service;
-
After the children's message, kids three and older may head off to Sunday school when it is in session, join a large group for a supervised activity during vacation or summer times or return to enjoy the remainder of the service with their families;
-
-
Communion (gluten free), offered to any who wish to partake on the first Sunday of every month;
-
A time of socializing after the service in our fellowship hall when we share coffee and refreshments and catch up with each other every week;
-
And, most importantly, a warm welcome! We hope to see you soon.
