Weekly Prayer Group
A new Quest for the Spirit: Introduction to Christian Meditation is starting on May 3, 2023. We’ll run for 8 weeks; and, with the approach of beautiful late spring weather, we’ll explore several outdoor meditations in meadows, at lakeside and under the stars. As Paul wrote in Romans 1:20, “Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made."
Over thirty friends and neighbors joined us for our first two Quest for the Spirit courses last fall and winter. We’ll return with the same format, offering a foundational introduction to the ancient spiritual disciplines that have offered a hundred generations of the faithful gateways to the experience of God. This Quest draws together meditation forms from ancient monastic traditions (e.g. Benedictine lectio divina), guided meditations developed by St. Ignatius of Loyola, and meditations set outside (e.g. walking and star gazing meditations.)
